vacation is planned

We've got our vacation planned finally. Charleston, SC or bust!

Charleston?? No Cancun, no South Beach, no cruise???

Planning this vacation was very frustrating, to say the least. She wanted to go here, I wanted to go there. Then when we agreed on where to go, we couldn't afford the plane tickets, hotel and rental car. Then we figured that we'd like to eat as well, and that blew our budget.

The difficulty with this vacation is that Hugs's vacation is during the official "Spring Break" time, so all the prices are jacked up to double the off season rates (think twice before marrying a teacher!!). Not only that, if we go to someplace sunny and warm there are going to be oodles of drunk college kids...not something that'll make for a relaxing adult vacation.

So do we go to a big city? Well, neither of us are big city folks. Museums and art galleries are so so....so what else do you do in a big city? We'd rather spend time in a national park hiking on a trail. And we aren't too big into clubbin' either, so now what?

Regardless, it'll be great. I'll spend a week with my wife and not have to worry about work or anything else.

Charleston,SC is a great choice! It's definitely not your typical city. There's wonderful history and everything is beautiful! I recommend the horse-drawn carriage tour. Also go out to Fort Sumter if you like history, if not, seeing the dolphins jump by your boat on the way over is great. When I was there a few years ago, you could still see damage from hurricane Hugo. Can't wait to hear about all the fun you'll have.

FYI: March 10, birthday celebration for yours truly. We are starting by playing lots of games at Gameworks, and then moving on to one of the many fine drinking establishments at Easton. Be there or be square!
